Polar Organic Chemical Integrative Sampler (POCIS)

What are POCIS?

• - POCIS sequesters primarily hydrophilic/polar type substances. Substances with a log Kow< 4
• - Each POCIS disk consists of a microporous polyethersulfone membrane encasing various solid phase sorbents or mixtures of sorbents
• - Different sorbents can be used for different classes of pollutants
• - The POCIS holder housed within the NLS passive sampler accommodates three disks
