GC-MS (Multi-Residue) Screening for Pesticides; Emerging Organic Pollutants (EOP's) and Persistent Organic Pollutants (POP's).

The GC-MS Target Based Screening methods allow for virtually all GC-amenable pesticides as well as hundreds of other organic pollutants to be identified from a single sample, incorporating over 950 target Chemicals and including both VOCs and SVOCs into a single unique target database.

Why choose screening?

  • Because it's not possible to monitor for everything everywhere
  • When a strategy of adopting a full suite of analysis is likely to be cost prohibitive
  • Rapid response to environmental & homeland security threats
  • To assess the pressures and risks to land, sea and water

The NLS offers a GC-MS screening capability that can detect a wide range of organic pollutants. Our approach deploys state-of-the-art GC-MS equipment operating in full-scan mode with the latest Deconvolution Reporting Software (DRS), which dramatically increases the accuracy of target identification.

Who Should Use It?

This unique screening capability has a strong link (and support for) the Water Framework Directive (WFD 2000/60/EC). Driven by the WFD legislation, these screening capabilities provide a powerful monitoring tool in assessing the pressures and impacts on a given watercourse, helping to ensure that legislation is met.

When there is a requirement for a cost effective solution for the identification of unknown organic pollutants.

Matrices analysed include Fresh Water, Groundwater, Saline, Sewage Effluents, Trade Effluents, Leachates, and Solids.
