Norovirus test added to AquaProva shellfish testing service
Dec 2011 - We have now added a Norovirus test to our shellifish testing service known as AquaProva. This test uses a qPCR assay for the detection of Norovirus Genogroups I and II in shellfish. This draft CEN (European Committee for Standardization) method is most likely to conform to upcoming legislative requirements.
AquaProva is a partnership between Aquatic Water Services Limited (AWS) and the National Laboratory Service (NLS), delivering trusted shellfish testing results.
Formed in 2009, this partnership benefits customers through offering a wide range of services to the water and related industries.
Important changes to 'My NLS' functionality
Jan 2012 - The NLS is planning some important changes to the 'My NLS' functionality on this website. Over the last 12 months we have monitored usage of the 'My NLS' area of the site. Since its introduction, access to this area of the website has steadily declined down to just a few occasional logins today.
In the interests of keeping the website's content relevant to our customers, we are planning to suspend this functionality from the 1st Feb 2012. Copies of previous NLS reports can still be obtained via our Customer Service team and customers will still recieve their reports in the usual way.
